This incident was a result of a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack against a Zendesk IP address, causing accessibility issues to one of our data centers. The attack changed vectors multiple times throughout the incident and eventually the affected IP address was taken offline to avoid impact to other Sacramento Data Center customers.
Actual total performance degradation time was 52 minutes in total. DDoS mitigation systems were engaged once it was confirmed as DDoS. The affected IP address was reactivated a few hours later.
