If you built an app with the Zendesk Apps framework to extend the functionality of Zendesk Support, you can add it to your instance of Zendesk Support so that agents can start using it. These kinds of apps are private, as opposed to the public apps available in the Zendesk Apps Marketplace .
You can only upload and install private apps in Zendesk Support on the Professional or Enterprise plan. If you're on the Essential or Team plan, Zendesk offers developers a free, sponsored Enterprise account for testing and debugging apps. We ask only that you don't use it to provide actual support. See Request a sponsored test account .
If you haven't built an app yet, see the Building your first Zendesk app . If you're trying to build and package your app, use the ZAT tool as described in Installing and using the Zendesk apps tools .
- Click the Admin icon ( ) in the sidebar, then select Apps > Manage .
- Click Upload App .
for the app.
This is the name your agents will see.
- Click Choose file and select the zip file for your private app.
- Click Save .
- In the pop-up box that appears, click Agree and upload this App .
When prompted, click
When the process is complete, your private app appears in the list of installed apps on the Manage Apps page.
You are ready to use your private app. In a ticket, click the Apps button in the upper-right corner to see use the app.
If you've built a private app that users outside of your Zendesk Support instance might find useful, be sure to share your app with other Zendesk Support users in the Zendesk Apps Marketplace. To submit your app for approval, see apps.zendesk.com .
