Network issues withing our EU data centre have now been resolved. Post-mortem to follow.
This incident was caused by a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack on our EU data centre. This impacted performance for Zendesk customers whose accounts are located in that data centre, as well as the majority of Zopim customers. To resolve the incident, we enabled fallback to an alternative routing service for the time until the attack subsided. Our Operations team are working on a global project to improve the way we detect and respond to DDoS attacks to minimise the impact of such incidents going forward.
