We're currently investigating reports of impacted search performance for customers in the EU data centre. Apologies for the inconvenience
Search issues in our European Datacenter started shortly before 10:00 UTC on April 8, 2016. The incident started when one of our search clusters became unresponsive for an extended period of time. This resulted in a sequence of automated recovery processes which put intense load on the overall system. During this time search requests kept coming in but were returning errors for part or all of the request, resulting in an intermittent inability to search. The specific root cause is still under investigation.
