Login issues affecting Zendesk Chat have been resolved. Root cause is being investigated.

We're investigating reports of people being unable to login to Zendesk Chat.
During this incident customers were unable to log in to their Zendesk Chat. A deploy was made which required the Memcache to be flushed in order for the changes to work. This triggered a surge in connections and a high load on our database cluster. This caused the database to become unresponsive. Restarting the database resolved the issue.
To prevent this from happening in future, we'll look at ways to flush the Memcache in intervals to reduce the sudden and large number of cache misses.
